Cinematic Trailer
This project was created as part of a group assignment where the goal was to create a product based on a fictional companys request. Me and my group instead used this as an opportunity to work together with the furniture-company MIO and their new couch.

The Project
Asa group of four, we created a cinematic product trailer for MIO, focusing on their new sofa bed Amie. We were provided with CAD data of the sofa and several additional pieces of furniture. From this, we developed a shared vision for the enviroment, camrea work, lighting and overall style of the final cinematic.
My role focused mainly on asset creation and animation, working with both the provided CAD data and assets that needed to be modeled from scratch.

Modeling
I modeled some pieces of furniture and decorative assets that might be needed for the enviroment. One of theese was a lounge chair, which I recreated using a reference from MIO´s website to match their existing furniture.
The main challenge was creating the soft, rounded shapes of the original designs. This required lots of shaping to achieve the right proportions. For the square cusion i also got to experiment a lot with the cloth modifyer to create the soft pillowy look.

Animating
For the outro, I created an animation where different versions of the sofa move outward from the center to showcase the available material options.
The main challenge was preventing the sofas from visually intersecting each other as they moved. I sloved this by combining the animation with frame by frame masking on each of the sofas mesh pieces. Controlling which part of each sofa were visable troughout the shot. Finding this approach was itself part of the problem solving process, as combining all of the sofas meshes toghether and masking it all at once caused big amounts of lag and Blender to continuosely crash.
